At THE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF RHODE ISLAND, our volunteers are exceptional people in many ways. They are people who make a difference by helping others.

You may have considered volunteering, but worried about the time it would take from your already busy schedule. All you need is a minimum time commitment of two hours per week and a strong desire to help. Volunteers make a significant difference to our patients, staff, and the hospital community.

As a volunteer, we ask that you bring the following to the position:

  • A dedicated outlook
  • A warm and friendly smile
  • Compassion for others
  • A desire to learn new skills and make new friends
  • Commitment of time

These traits go a long way in helping RHRI provide the highest-quality healthcare to our community and the region. From students to adults, our volunteers range in age from 14 to 90 and work in numerous departments throughout the hospital including:

  • Lobby Greeters
  • Therapy Areas
